Here we go, Idaho!

Our family trip to Idaho was amazing.  Well, the trip while we were there was amazing, the road trip was long.  But all-in-all the littles were troopers.  And thank the Lord for a car with DVD players.  We wrapped up toys for them to open at the potty breaks if they were well-mannered.  The speed limits were 90 mph in some areas.  So we got to pretend we were Nascar.  Until our fender fell off.  Then we realized we had no pit crew and continued to drive as the sleep deprived parents we really were.

District Council 2012

Kid quotes, Marshal specifically:
"Mom, when I have an owie, it kinda looks like a steak..." - scabs.  Yes scabs.
"Mom, howcome when I'm sick I get a beaver?"

Door to Door

We have a youth missions program, that raises money for missionaries to buy vehicles and sound equipment.  It's called Speed the Light.  As a youth ministry we are selling discount cards for local businesses to raise funds.  So it was a family ordeal.  We went door to door with Summer (above) and Marshal "on a team" as Marshal called it.  We ended up raising $450 in a morning... not bad!  Marshal had a blast on his new scooter too.

"Tale as old as time..." in 3D

Beauty and the Beast is Marshy's favorite.  He was nervous about the glasses at first, but then LOVED them.  We had fun with Aunt Joy.

Yes to Westin!

We go a GREAT deal for a mini-vacation at the Westin Kierland in Scottsdale.  They had an awesome kid zone where we all spent hours at the pool.  This was Mac's first pool experience, and he was a champ.  It was one of the first times where all of us at the pool wasn't stressful, you know, babies tripping... running into the water... near-drowning and such.  We had so much fun! Marshal even went down the water slide by himself.  But didn't want to do it again, haha.  I love my family. I love boys.

P is for Poopie!!!

Mason is officially in underwear!  He started out with the above-pictured poopie 1/20/12 (and of course, it got photographed...) and within about 3 months he's doing it all, all on his own!  We like a no-pressure potty training approach, and it's worked for us with two boys.  Let them be interested, let them initiate when they're ready, and let them do all the work. :) He likes to pee outside.  He likes to be a big boy!  He potty-trained about a month earlier than Marshal did.  Mason was 2 and 4 months... Marsh was 2 and 5 months.  Wow.  I have smart boys.  Boys who like to go potty.  Praise the Lord for only ONE in diapers!

Easter 2012, and some Marshal Revelation

Saturday before Easter, we went to Papa and Grammy K's house for some Easter festivities, including brunch, eggs, and garden exploring.  Love having family close to enjoy these memorable times.

Tonight, Marshal had been asleep in bed for about an hour.  He woke up and came out to the living room.  "Mom!" He said, wide-eyed, with a sweet smile, "Jesus TALKED to me, and told me he loves me!"  I obviously wanted to hear more, so I walked him back to bed and tucked him in.  "Was Jesus speaking to your heart honey?" I asked.  "Yes, I'm so proud of Jesus for telling me he loves me." Marsh smiled, and fell back to sleep.

Out of the mouths of babes.  A great message for Easter.

First Food! First Tooth!

Baby Mac is eating cereal!  He had some respiratory issues in the beginning of his little life, so our pediatrician wanted us to wait until he was close to six months before starting any solids.  Our little guy started waking up, oh every TWO HOURS in the night... so we decided it was time to start some solids!  His first bite was 4/2/12, and he slept through the night again! (Well, closer anyway, only waking up now once a night).  It must have been just in the nick of time because the NEXT MORNING...
He cut his first tooth!  (I know you can't see it, so you'll just have to trust me on this one!)
